* Attendee Only shots are released to collectors attending a HRC Shot Glass Event and are made in very limited quantities. The tradition started in 2003 when many collectors went to the Lake Tahoe cafe following the Shot Rush Event and were sold a special shot for coming out. The shot glasses are not sold at the cafe and are normally released during the pre or post event party. The money raised by the sale of this shot glass is donated to a local charity in the event host city. Indianapolis Dick's Pre-Party 2006 shot glasses had printing issues. The design had 3 proofs made to better select the final run:
However, the design could not be printed clearly with the selected font and size. The wording above the car and through the car came out too small or smeared on all 3 proofs. The printer made a change to the font for the final run and it was printed using etching on clear glass. Here's the original design, as it appears on the prototype shots. There were 3 of each proof printed. Drinking for Royalty 2006 - this is the only shot glass issued for the drinking contest, held most years at the pre-party events. Denver A Shot At 5280 Ft - the title was separated so that the A and At are on the end of the design and Shot 5280 ft are at the beginning. The problem with printing wrap around designs is the whole design often doesn't touch and the gap can hinder the image. In this case, 12 shots were misprinted before the vendor noticed and corrected the title to fit on one side. 2 of the 12 shots were significantly flawed (printing was scratched), leaving 10 in existence. New Orleans Voodoo In The Bayou Pre-Party - 36 shots made. The Antwerp shot glass appeared on eBay, starting around June 2007 and is believed to have been manufactured by the seller. The USA logo with the Times New Roman font was never released by the cafe during its short existence. The Canadian blue logo shot glasses were made by a seller, who initially sold them as real. The Banawe stamp on the bottom of the glass is much smaller than the original. It has been confirmed that he had commissioned the Banawe company to make shots for him. In some cases, the city name on the fake never appeared on a real equivalent. The Catania first anniversary staff shot glass is viewed by many collectors as being fake. The quality of the design is not as professional as the other glasses and there was only 1 known seller of this shot glass (mostly available through e-Bay). An email from the cafe denies that they released this shot glass (but in fairness, cafe staff have been mistaken in the past). The story on this shot glass is that it was given to staff for the 1rst Anniversary, which is unconfirmed. Mexico - probably has the biggest collection of fakes. There are many that are not listed here. Most are obvious fakes based on the quality of the printing or oversized logo designs. The Circle of Friends (a group of Belgian, Dutch, German, Columbian,
Polish, English, Danish Hollywood, FL Cherry Pickin' Buzzard Bash Pre-Party 2008 was hosted by Vincenzo "Vic the Tat" Vulture and the Local Vulture Culture at the Celebrations Wedding Chapel prior to the Hollywood, FL Garden of Good and Evil Event. The Pre-Party was also known as "Trading 'til Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". The shot glasses were sold to raise money for charity (as well as other auction items) and all proceeds were added to the HRC Event charity, The Humane Society. Rota, Spain - the four inch tall black letter orange logo appeared on eBay in March 2008. Until it appeared, no one had seen a 4 inch cordial. Another oddity is that the "N" in Espana should have a ntilde: ñ (like the other releases) and instead each "A" is characterized as an aring: å, which is apparently Norwegian (based on a Google search). It is very probable that this shot was manufactured privately. Until the validity of the shot glass can be established as being sold through the renegade cafe by a credible collector, consider this particular shot glass fake (not sold through the renegade cafe). Buyer beware! Manila, Philippines - the four inch all black letter old Asian yellow logo appeared on eBay in early 2008. The original shot is very rare because the cafe changed its name from Manila to Makati shortly after opening. This particular shot is as rare as the Taichung yet the seller on eBay (who is also selling Taichung shots - see above), has a staggering number available for sale. Nothing from this seller, or any of the alias he uses, can be considered authentic as he appears to be manufacturing collections of rare shots. Buyer beware!
